The swing keel and twin rudder design mean she can navigate very shallow waters (great for going up rivers) and will stand up straight (if the keel is up) on the beach, river bank etc when the tide is out.
The rudders are controlled by a cable and pulley system attached to the main wheel. The keel is raised or lowered by a manual winch from the inside, easy enough for one person to operate.
Wherever possible the pumps and winches are manual as it is better suited to cruizing in remote areas where spare parts are difficult to find.
The bilges show no sign of rust - see additional photos.
She has cruised the Indian Ocean for 6 years.
Currently moored on own swing mooring on Knysna lagoon just near Thesen Island.
